Actor Anthony Michael Hall Arrested

Actor Anthony Michael Hall was placed under citizen's arrest by a neighbor after a disturbance at his condominium complex in Playa del Rey on Monday night, police said today.

Hall reportedly tore up some plants in a common area of the condominium complex. The neighbor confronted Hall, who responded with an obscenity and threatened to "beat him to a pulp," according to the Los Angeles Times

The neighbor then called police.

"Once they arrived, they met with the victim, a neighbor of his, who demanded a citizen's arrest for disturbing the peace," officer Gregory Baek said. Police took Hall into custody and booked him at the Pacific Division jail, where he posted a $500 bail and was released.

Hall starred in the USA network show 'The Dead Zone,' but is best known for his John Hughes-movie roles in 'National Lampoon's Vacation,' 'Sixteen Candles' and 'The Breakfast Club.'

Hall also was a cast member of Saturday Night Live in 1985 and 1986. Hall's website, anthonymichaelhall.net, says that he "has made an indisputable mark in lives all over the world."

Well, that's true in at least one condo complex.
