Reese Witherspoon, Natalie Portman, Ashley Tisdale and Other Actresses Who’ve Gone Topless
During his runway show at New York Fashion Week last week, designer Marc Jacobs sent a topless model down the runway. Some showgoers were shocked to see her in so little, but she’s not the first to draw attention for going topless.
It seems like it’s become the norm in Hollywood to bare it all for the cameras at least once in your career. Plenty of celebrities have stripped down for a movie role, a photo shoot, or an advertisement, including these 10 actresses. Check out the list below to see who has gone topless for all the world to see!
Reese Witherspoon stripped down for her role in the 1998 film Twilight, which bares no relation to the current Twilight series. She took her top off to play Mel, a runaway teen with a shady boyfriend.
Natalie Portman refused to take part in a nude scene while filming Anywhere But Here when she was just 18 years old, but she rethought going topless a little less than 10 years later when filming Hotel Chevalier. She still felt conflicted about the nude scene though and thought it detracted from the rest of her work.
It took a $500,000 bonus to convince her, but Halle Berry agreed to go topless while filming the 2001 movie Swordfish. She may not have been completely comfortable, but she went through with the sunbathing scene.
Gwyneth Paltrow posed topless for the August 2011 issue of Vanity Fair. She wore nothing but a pair of fishnet tights and Louis Vuitton jewelry for the photograph.
Sofia Vergara took it all off for the May 2012 issue of GQ Mexico. In one photo, she wears nothing but a sheer shirt. In another shot, she trips down completely to lay in a bed covered with silk sheets.
Kate Winslet has bared it all many times over the past several years. The actress stripped down her roles in Heavenly Creatures, Jude, and Titanic. Winslet also posed topless in 2011 for a Lancôme campaign.
Jennifer Aniston posed topless for the cover of the January 2009 issue of GQ. She wore nothing but a red, white, and blue necktie in the photograph. Aniston also posed nude for a Rolling Stone cover in 1996.
Demi Moore posed naked for the cover of the August 1991 issue of Vanity Fair when she was 7 months pregnant. The famous photo has since been recreated by many other celebrities.
Lindsay Lohan channeled Marilyn Monroe when she posed for Playboy. Lohan recreated one of the last photo shoots Monroe starred in as she bared it all for the magazine. She also copied some of the late star’s photos for New York Magazine in 2008.
Ashley Tisdale posed nude for Allure in 2011. She believes it was the perfect opportunity to show that she’s “actually a woman” and is no longer “the young girl everybody thinks I am.”
