Ray Emery went from being a high-upside goaltender with the Ottawa Senators, to out of the NHL, then to the Flyers and then to the Anaheim Ducks. Now? He’ll be playing a few games for Syracuse in the AHL.
“Ducks send G Ray Emery to AHL Syracuse to play games tonight at San Antonio and Monday at Texas. Will be recalled after that,” tweets Eric Stephens, beat writer for Orange County Register.
The move doesn’t mean that he can’t play anymore. According to Stephens, they just want him to get some work in so that he doesn’t get all rusty doing nothing.
“Emery move clearly is to get him some game action instead of just sitting away on bench,” Stephens tweets.
Look for Emery to get back to the team relatively quickly, so he can resume sitting on the bench.
