Early 2010-11 NBA Games You Can't Miss

Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics – October 26th
A great way to kick off the NBA season.  No doubt this game has greater implications, the first game for LeBron in Miami and a potential Eastern Conference playoff preview, but as far as rookies goes the question will be, what rookie will get on the stat sheet first.  Right now if we had to guess, we’ll take Avery Bradley.

Detroit Pistons vs New Jersey Nets – October 27th
The first game where two lottery picks will be battling it out.  Here it is polish versus potential with the Piston’s Greg Monroe attempting to make New Jersey regret selecting Georgia Tech’s Derrick Favors ahead of him.  Leading up to the draft there were rumors that New Jersey liked Monroe, but ultimately Favors potential won out.  Obviously one game, and each player’s first NBA game, isn’t a great way to grade a draft, but Monroe may come out with something to prove.

Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers – October 27th
Evan Turner won’t get an easy first test going against the Heat.  Expect him to get locked down by either LeBron or Wade in his first NBA game.  This one could be ugly for Turner, and the Sixers.

Sacramento Kings vs Minnesota Timberwolves – October 27th
DeMarcus Cousins will go up against the number five pick from a few years ago, Kevin Love, in his first NBA game.  It will be interesting to see how DeMarcus handles NBA caliber bigs after feasting on lesser talents in the Las Vegas Summer League.  Also in this one the debut of Syracuse’s Wes Johnson, the forgotten man taken in the top five.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Los Angeles Clippers – October 27th
The first regular season game for Blake Griffin in his rookie campaign.  We think that he, Wall, and Cousins will be battling it out for Rookie of the Year, and if he can take it to LeMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden, we’ll be very impressed.  Also, in this one we’ll likely see all the Clipper rookies (Griffin, Al-Farouq Aminu, Eric Bledsoe, and Willie Warren) in action. It will also be seen how Blazers first round picks Luke Babbitt and Elliot Williams are incorporated if at all.

Washington Wizards vs Orlando Magic – October 28th
The NBA are giving us John Wall’s first game on national television, with no other games going on.  Obviously they’re pushing him as one of the leagues next superstar’s.  As far as the match-up it will be John Wall up against Jameer Nelson, don’t blink or you might miss it.

Sacramento Kings vs New Jersey Nets – October 29th
Derrick Favors goes right up against the player that many are saying the Nets should have taken, DeMarcus Cousins.  Although they may not see a lot of time head to head, a good showing by Cousins could add to the argument that the Nets missed on not taking DeMarcus.
