Dolphins Trade Ted Ginn Jr. to the 49ers

The Miami Dolphins acquired a top-flight WR in Brandon Marshall on Wednesday this week. On Friday, they shipped one out who was supposed to be because they simply didn’t need him anymore. That’s right, the Dolphins sent former #9-overall pick Ted Ginn, Jr. to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

In case you are keeping score at home, that’s all the New York Jets had to send the Pittsburgh Steelers for troubled wideout Santonio Holmes. And if you are still keeping score, Santonio is a much better player.

Ginn is a very good kick returner who was simply drafted way too high. Yes, he got paid for being selected too high, but he also got too much criticism. The guy never should have been valued so greatly.

Josh Morgan will still most likely keep his job on the outside opposite Michael Crabtree. Ginn will compete for the third wide receiver spot with Brandon Jones and Jason Hill.
