Do Sarah and Todd Palin Have a "Silent" Marriage?

More details about the private life of Sarah Palin are leaking out, courtesy of that tell-all manuscript her former aide has written. A draft of Frank Bailey's "In Blind Allegiance to Sarah Palin: A Memoir of Our Tumultuous Years," has been leaked to The Daily Beast.

One of the more interesting little tidbits is that it appears Palin and husband Todd have something of a silent marriage. Bailey writes that Palin confided in him:

We're not like normal couples, Frank. We don't talk.

Bailey described how Todd would take Palin's BlackBerry in order to read her emails for "emotional clues" during the 2006 campaign for Alaska governor. He would then "relay his wife's demeanor" to the team.

Bailey also alleges that Todd even accessed her emails without her knowledge, and if he saw something that worried him, he would call Bailey with his concerns.

Also during that campaign, Bailey claims Palin wrote fake letters to newspapers in the name of supporters.

In one letter Bailey said she emailed to him, the "supporter" praised her leadership skills, experience, ethics and energy. Bailey writes that it read in part:

"It's clear Sarah is committed to just doing the right thing, even if her Republican Party bosses try to punish her for it."

Bailey said Palin once emailed her saying "I feel like we are the last of the innocents," and that her campaign was a "divine calling."

He said she wrote:

"You know when you're called for something…there's no guarantee of the outcome but you just know, with a confidence that can only comes (sic) from God."

When daughter Bristol became pregnant, Bailey said Palin went into a panic because she couldn't remember her position on sex education. Bailey said Palin 'ordered' him to examine the Alaska Family Council campaign survey from 2006 to find out whether she was in favor of abstinence-only education.

On a lighter note, Bailey said Todd Palin laughed when he saw a doctored pornographic photograph that showed Palin's head on a nude body. He said Todd responded:

"Is it real?" He laughed in his quiet Todd-way and said, "Well she walks around the house with her robe open and with all those windows we have, well, you know…"
