NBA Fantasy: Wesley Matthews, Rashard Lewis, Kevin Love

| by Give Me The Rock

Line of the Night: Wesley Matthews (2.64) is certainly an undrafted hero. Of that, there is no doubt. His 36 points, 5 rebounds, 7 threes, and 9-9 from the line may make one of my matchups this week turn from impossible to possible… or POSSIMPIBLE. Go ahead and leave any adoring comments in the GMTR Chat Room (aka The Comments).

Honorable Mentions: I don’t know who Rashard Lewis (2.46) thinks he is, but I’ll tell you who he is: #5 on the Player Rater over the past 7 days. His ranking was obviously improved with his 16 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 threes, and 3 steals from last night. He’s only #77 on the season, but is up to #34 for the past month.

I know Kevin Love (2.34) knows who he is. He’s a double-double machine and not just any machine; he’s like the Iron Man of double-double machines. Last night he scored 30 points adding 19 rebounds and 3 threes on a hyper-efficient 10-15 from the field and 7-7 from the line.

There were a lot of other fine performances last night, but unless they were on your team, you probably don’t care. And if they were on your team, you already know. So…

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: It was an overtime game that led to Chris Douglas-Roberts (2.17) 30 points (12-19 from the field), 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 4 blocks, but it also came against the Miami defense which only allows 92 points a game. CDR has yet to string more than 3 good games in a row, though, so I’d wait on picking him up.

Could it be the return of whatever Jodie Meeks (1.34) had before he went away for a bit? Well, he didn’t play in an overtime game, but he did get 42 minutes, so I’m going to say wait on him too.

Then there’s Jim O’Brien’s new starting PF Tyler Hansbrough (1.33), who had two career highs with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Do you want to take a risk that he’ll stay there? Once again, I’d wait to see if he continues to play like that (and gets 30 plus minutes of PT).

Think you’ve taken enough Waiver Wire picks with a grain of salt for one day? Well, too bad. Luke Harangody (1.12) led the Celtics (that’s seriously almost the exact headline) to the win with career highs of 17 points and 11 rebounds, just like Hansbrough. Kevin Garnett is expected to be out until the end of January, so if Harangody can get 26 minutes a game from now until then, he’ll probably make a decent short term pick up. Lucky for us, the Celtics have a game tonight so we can see what happens before going into next week with Luke on our teams.

Biggest Loser: Richard Jefferson (-1.09) wasn’t doing much to help the Spurs eke out a win over Tyler Hansbrough’s Pacers with his 4 points, 1 rebounds, and 1 assist.
