NBA Fantasy: Tyreke Evans, Tony Allen, James Harden

| by Give Me The Rock

Line of the Night: Tyreke Evans (2.60) scored 15 of 29 points in a furious attempt to duplicate the 4th quarter he created in Memphis. Unfortunately for Sacremento, those points, along with his 8 assists, 5 steals, and 2 blocks were wasted. Hopefully fantasy owners won’t have the same problem.

Honorable Mentions: Wilson Chandler (2.24) just keeps going with another 31 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 threes. Zach Randolph (2.00) did his Kevin Love impression with 31 points and 16 rebounds.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: In one of the more strange things that could ever lead to a Waiver Wire Line of the Night, evidently Tony Allen (1.85) hit OJ Mayo on the Grizzlies charter flight on Monday because Mayo wouldn’t stop being a d-bag about money that he owed Allen from playing some Boo-Ray. If I was in the NBA, I’d be the dorky white guy staying well the hell away from Boo-Ray cause it only seems to cause problems. But I guess paying your Boo-Ray debts is of critical importance for the Grizzlies and so Mayo got suspended while Allen was allowed to take his place and scored 19 points, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. I’m not even going to try speculate on the odds that something like that be repeated, but Allen has actually been getting more minutes lately, so maybe he’s at least worth a flag.

James Harden (1.62) is only owned in 48% of leagues, so if he’s available in yours, what are you waiting for? Harden had 17 points, 3 threes, and 3 blocks last night.

While I think everyone (including us on the podcast) was saying to add Shawn Marion now that Caron Butler is done for the season, it might actually be DeShawn Stevenson (1.13) who is the better pick. The Mavs went with one of the smallest starting lineups I believe I’ve ever seen last night, going with Kidd and Terry at the Guards, Steveson at SF and Marion and Chandler up front. Since January 1, Stevenson is averaging over 30 minutes a game (in 3 games) and if I were the Mavs, I’d continue to go with him at SF and send Marion back to the bench whenever Dirk gets back.

Everyone likes to ignore the Milwaukee Bucks, but with Brandon Jennings out, Keyon Dooling has been playing some pretty decent basketball. I know, not exactly a ringing endorsement, but if you’re in one of the 87% of leagues where he’s still available and need a true as can be Point Guard, Dooling’s looking to give you 11 points and 5 assists with a three and a steal.
