David Letterman Apologizes to Sarah Palin and Daughters

Comedian and talk show host David Letterman has apologized for a joke he made on a recent episode of his popular show, in which he referred to a daughter of Sarah Palin getting "knocked up" by Yankee Alex Rodriguez. On Monday night's episode, Letterman said "I've never made jokes like this as long as we've been on the air, 30 long years, and you can't really be doing jokes like that."
Fox News reports:

Let's start with full disclosure. Politically, I am a conservative-leaning moderate. I am also a single father of a 10 year old. I've been so for 8 of his 10 years.
I understand that this is popularly a women's issue. However, speaking as a parent, I can relate to Gov. Palin's disappointment in Letterman's joke choice. Mr. Letterman was right when he said that this joke was not defendable.
Speaking as a conservative-leaner, I can plainly see the chasm of difference between the media treatment of a conservative woman (Palin) and a liberal woman (Obama). It is a huge difference. This is 100% the fault of the consumers of Media Outlets and their complicity... scratch that; Their want for the debasement of conservative women. This even extends to women who are not-as-liberal as their political opponents. The treatment of H. Clinton during the primaries, for example. It is astonishing.
You who allow this to continue through your inaction are to blame.
Now, the apology by Mr. Letterman (for whatever motivation) was extensive. Like they said- 4 minutes. I was impressed. This particular bruhaha should be put to bed now. Goodnight.
