Former Ohio Sheriff's Deputy Ray Robert is suing his police department after he was fired for refusing to be shot with a taser. As a matter of policy, every sheriff in the field is required to tased once in order to understand the weapon's effect, but Robert, who has a medical condition he fears would be aggravated by the shock, refused to participate and was subsequently dismissed.
