Calif. Cop Fake-Arrests Teen for Having Sex With His Kid

| by MomLogic

Talk about cold busted!

To keep his 14-year-old stepdaughter from sleeping with her boyfriend again, a San Jose cop showed up at the 15-year-old boy's house in full uniform, cuffed him and then released him with a stern warning -- only to find himself placed on administrative leave and under criminal investigation for false imprisonment!

According to the San Jose Mercury News, some of the incident was captured on smartphone video. As the cop stood over the boy in his family's living room, he allegedly told the teen, "Not a good thing that the person you had sex with is a cop's daughter. The district attorney will probably file charges. A cop's daughter is not somebody you mess around with. You're stupid."

The officer's lawyer says there was no objection to the handcuffing or lecture, and that "everything was done in the spirit of reaching a troubled young man who was heading down the wrong path."

Initially, the boy's parents complied and thanked the officer for not pressing statutory rape charges. But they later changed their tune and claimed the cop had abused his authority. "He came over in full uniform and parked his motorcycle in front of our house," said the teen's mom. "He didn't come over in jeans and shirt. He didn't come over as a parent. He came over as somebody who had the authority to do whatever he wanted with us." (Ironically, the boy was then arrested by another cop for having unlawful sexual intercourse.)

The cop-dad's attorney counters, "He [was] doing [the boy's parents] a favor by attempting to lecture and educate the young man so he doesn't continue to go down the wrong path. This is two sets of parents navigating the challenges of raising teenage children. The officer's goal was to help and engage in problem solving. Turning this into the blame game does not help the teens. In fact, it sets a poor example for taking personal responsibility."

Crazy story! Do you think the cop dad should be punished for his behavior, or was he justified in trying to scare these kids out of a too-early sexual relationship?
