Code Pink to Deliver a Letter from Hamas to Barack Obama

CAIRO — An American group arriving here tomorrow from war-torn Gaza will deliver a letter penned by Hamas officials to Pres. Obama, who will be in Cairo delivering his landmark speech to the Arab world.

At 9 a.m. June 4, the delegation of journalists, social workers, professors and activists will carry the letter to the U.S. Embassy here along with a petition signed by more than 10,000 Americans asking Obama to go to Gaza to witness the impact of the recent Israeli invasion there and its ongoing blockade of the Gaza border.

“Obama should go to Gaza and see the devastation for himself, or send envoy George Mitchell,” said Medea Benjamin, co-founder of the women’s peace group CODEPINK, which led the group through Gaza. “There is be no significant improvement in relations between the United States and the Arab world until the U.S. begins to deal directly with Hamas and shows its commitment to the rights of both Palestinians and Israelis.”

The 66-person delegation was allowed through the Rafah, Egypt checkpoints into Gaza May 30, bringing toys, school supplies and playground building supplies, and built three small playgrounds there (view photos here). The delegation met with government officials, including the Ministers of Health and Education, members of Parliament, the Speaker of the Legislative Council and the Deputy of the Foreign Affairs Ministry. Delegates also met with visiting schools, hospitals, mental health workers, human rights lawyers, businessmen and women’s groups.

The group was shocked by the brutality of the Israeli invasion that killed more than 1,400, displaced more than 50,000 people and destroyed approximately 4,000 homes. They were also appalled by the effects of the 21-month siege that has virtually sealed the borders and constitutes a form of collective punishment, which is illegal under international law.

“The siege in Gaza is keeping the people in a virtual prison and it must be lifted,” said CODEPINK member Tighe Barry. “We are appealing to the president to act now to stop this humanitarian crisis and truly move the peace process forward.”

Code Pink is not kidding - they are routinely working with, conspiring, aiding and abetting an organization that is listed as a Terrorist entity in the United States...if the FBI and or CIA did their jobs this organizations leaders would be jailed immediately.

What is the point of having laws and designating groups as terrorists if it means nothing?

Anyone who doesn't think Hamas is a terrorist organization should first read their Covenant or charter which clearly defines who they are and what their goal is. They are the Palestinian wing of the Muslim Brotherhood (whom Obama invited to his speech in their founding country - Egypt), and their goal is to destroy Israel - literally by waging jihad as the Prophet Muhammid commands them to do. They will kill every Jew and infidel in the region to establish their goal. They are funded by Iran and Syria and aided by Jordan and Egypt.

The so-called "seige" in Gaza is a direct result of Hamas taking over. There was no seige before that. Israel gave Gaza to Hamas and look what has happened? Hamas has made life worse for its own people and now wants to blame Israel.

Even the most rational, objective observer can see that Hamas and its Islamic goal - because it is all based on the Quranic dictate of hating and killing Jews - is the problem.

Ask any Hamas member, if all Jews in Israel convert to Islam will there be any more fighting? The answer will be no, the fighting would end. Well, except then they would fight and kill each other like Hamas and Fatah and the like do when they aren't killing Israelis.

Israel is a rogue state that does not respect the rule of law.

Israel has more UN resolutions against it that all other nations on earth combined.

It ignores the Geneva Convention.

It tortures children as well as adults

It ethnic cleanses people from land held by them for generations.

It exists merely because a bunch of Zionist gangsters rule over the USA and have all the politicians and media in their pocket.

Hamas are terrorists. They are under siege, in a "virtual prison" because of their agression against Israel. Israel repeatedly returns gains won in battle to the Arabs, despite the fact that the Arabs were the agressors. Israel has done everything to accomodate the Arabs short of giving up and allowing themselves to become the victims of genocide. They sign ceasefire after ceasefire, only to watch the rockets resume their deadly barrage. If the President of the United States is swayed by Code Pink, a radical fringe group of leftists, and Hamas, a group of Islamofascist terrorists to do anything, much less betray our only ally in the Middle East...

Fact Hamas won an election and are the democratically elected government of the Palestinian people.

Nearly all the ground on which the rogue state of Israel sits is stolen land. The Israelis have stolen 85% of the land of Palestine. They are the real terrorists and not Hamas.

The Balfour declaration was not permission for Zionists to form their own state but was to allow them to go to Palestine and make a home without infringing the rights of the indigenous population.

The Balfour declaration in any event was a nonsense as Britain gave away land to Zionists that was not owned by Britain at the time.

The Zionists began their takeover with their new invention, the car bomb and by using terrorism against a disarmed Arab population.

The Nakba was when Zionists drove out 700,000 defenceless people by using massacres and ethnic cleansing. That vilest of war crimes and crimes against humanity should have been punished, but Israel is perpetually rewarded with land for its crimes against humanity, crimes against peace and its war crimes.

Although the United States is not entirely a free nation in which men would be free to contract with each other under terms they see fit, there can be no justification for supporting/recognizing dictatorships, terrorists or any other government that denies the rights to life liberty and property. If Hamas were motivated by a struggle to preserve religious freedom then of course their cause might gain some legitimacy. But this is not their aim at all. Hamas apparently wants exclusive rights to the holy land and will murder as many innocent people as it sees fit. I am not familiar with the nature of the Israeli government in regards to its commingling with religious ideology or otherwise. Regardless it is completely irrational to capitulate to the demands of enemies of our nations ally.

In that Israel wants to have it stay a "Jewish state" but welcomes religious pluralism. Many areas in Israel, especially in Tel Aviv, are incredibly secular and welcoming of different faiths. Israel LIKES religious pluralism. We don't pass laws based on the Torah, and our government is as seperate as possible from our holy texts. Muslims can become citizens, worship freely, etc

Palestine has become as South Africa used to be.

It is entirely racist to refer to a Jewish State. You don't get Protestant States and Catholics States nor Arian states nor white states nor black states.

Israel just claims all of Palestine and has made it into an Apartheid State by dividing it up into Bantustans. Israel has stolen all the materials and water resources in the West bank.

The only solution is a one state solution. Every Jew, Christian and Muslim should have a vote each (It would include the right of return for all Palestinians to their original country where they have no other citizenship). After the vote a government of national unity could be formed as in South Africa.

The Palestinian Revolutionary council could be the pattern for this government as it already includes Muslims, Christians and Jews.

If there is no justice for the Palestinians there will be no peace.
