Code Pink Snubbed by 'Sex and the City' Star Kristin Davis

CODEPINK hand-delivered a letter to Sex & The City star and Oxfam ambassador Kristin Davis at an Ahava beauty products promotional event at Lord & Taylor in New York City, June 10. Davis is a paid spokesperson for Ahava, which obtains and manufactures its products in an illegal Israeli settlement in the occupied Palestinian West Bank. CODEPINK is asking Davis to educate herself about the facts of Ahava’s criminal theft and exploitation.

Dana Balicki (the bearer of the letter and CODEPINK’s Campaign Manager) said, “I told Kristin that her admirable work as an Oxfam Ambassador is undermined by her allowing AHAVA to use her good name and beautiful face to cover up their crimes. She looked none too thrilled I was there and told the publicity photographer not to take a picture.” A copy of the letter was also made available to the publicist on hand and fliers were handed out to those in line waiting for their own autographed photo of Kristin. Dana did not receive an autographed photo, but did get an official escort out of Lord & Taylor.

great work

maybe she's in character, still trying to gain acceptance in "the tribe", by supporting settlers.

Thank you, Dana & CODEPINK!!

Beautifully done. Hopefully Kristin will take your message to heart and recognize Ahava for the nefarious product it is. No one should profit from the suffering of others. Perhaps Ms. Davis, upon realizing the truth about Ahava, will consider resigning as spokesperson and donate some or all of her Ahava earnings to West Bank Palestinians who are routinely victimized by illegal Israeli settlers.

Fantastic work

Many thanks to CODEPINK for telling people the truth about such companies. Like Adalah NY (regarding Lev Leviev diamonds) this work is highly important. Educating the masses about this conflict is primordial.
Thanks again.

About Time!

Ahava has been promoting the "beauty" of Israeli settlement made products for a long time. There's no excuse for Kristin not knowing she is supporting thieves and exploiters. And there is no excuse for being annoyed at learning the truth. C'mon Kristin -- dump these guys!

Educating the masses, one star at a time!

Great work, Dana and CP. I imagine that she is home now reliving the experience today. I give it a week or two before she resigns her Ahava, who- cares- if -it's-a -settlement gig and saves face, so tot speak.

Good work!

Keep up the good work. We're campaigning against Ahava in the UK too. Look out for reports on Indymedia!

Kristin Davis should thank CODEPINK for politely making her aware

I mean for God's sake... she's promoting a product that is nearly 50% owned by settlement communities and is made in settlements - completely outlawed by international law ... and she's annoyed that CODEPINK politely delivers a letter?

Great work CODEPINK... way to spread the awareness. You've got my support!
