Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin has been named the 2010-11 T-Mobile NBA Rookie of the Year, the NBA announced on Wednesday. This marks the first time since the 1989-90 season -- when David Robinson won the honor -- that a player was unanimously selected as the winner of the Eddie Gottlieb Trophy.
Griffin received 118 first-place votes for a total of 590 points from the voting sportswriters and broadcasters around the U.S. and Canada.
Washington Wizards point guard John Wall finished in second place with 295 points, and Sacramento Kings forward-center DeMarcus Cousins finished third with 81 points.
Players got awarded five points for every first-place vote, three points for second and one point for third.
