Church of Scientology Convicted of Fraud in France

It's the most serious fraud case ever faced by the Church of Scientology. The organization has been convicted of using fraudulent techniques to exploit its followers. A French court has sentenced the church's two principle structures in France (its Paris-based celebrity center and its library) to a total fine of 600,000 euros. In addition, four leading French figures have received suspended sentences and fines. France 24 reports:
