Christina Aguilera Apologizes for National Anthem Screwup

| by

When Christina Aguilera belted out the National Anthem at yesterday’s Super Bowl, many noticed that she really flubbed the lyrics to “The Star Spangled Banner”.

She was honored with being able to sing the song for the nation, yet she must not have memorized the lyrics.

Reportedly, the songstress was telling people that she was devastated over the massive messup and that she didn’t want anyone around her. And today, she’s issuing an apology for it.

In a new statement, she says, “I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.”

While some at home may not have noticed due to the consumption of alcoholic beverages during yesterday’s game, we had our ear to the ground.

Can you believe she messed up the lyrics? Isn’t that the first song you learn here in the States?

What do you think? Is her apology enough? Did you feel her love for the country? Still, I think she sang her heart out. Don’t you?
