China has defied international criticism to execute a convicted British drug smuggler. Akmal Shaikh was executed by lethal injection despite pleas for clemency from relatives and questions being raised about his mental health. More from the Associated Press:

Heroin kills 100,000 people each and every year. That'd be like nuking a city the size of Seattle once every five years.

It's a crying shame our own country doesn't execute these kind of scumbags as fast as they find them. He needed dead real bad and got what he deserved. China is absolutely right on this one. Executing one lowlife is 100% justified considering how many people he would have killed with ten pounds of heroin.
