Willie Nelson appeared on "Conan" Monday night in a parody audition for "The Hobbit." The country singer made a bid to play “Stoned Gandalf” for the film’s upcoming sequel "The Desolation of Smaug," reported Rolling Stone (video below).

“Hey, Peter Jackson!” said Willie Nelson, addressing the film's director. “My name’s Willie Nelson, and I want to audition for the role of Gandalf and the wizard in that upcoming movie you’ve got, ‘The Hobbit.’”

Nelson wore a pointy hat and held a cane while reciting his lines: “You shall not pass… an unlit joint, man” and “You know, that giant flaming eye is just freaking me the f*ck out."

He also sang "Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Orc" and closed with, "Peter, you can hire me and fire that Ian McKellen guy."
