Kensington Palace announced today that "the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son George Alexander Louis. The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge."
Prince William and Kate Middleton's baby will be third in line to the throne, notes the Daily Mail.
Yesterday, outside St. Mary's Hospital in London, Prince William told the press: "We're still working on a name, so we will have that as soon as we can."
George and James were the top picks among the UK's bookmakers, who took bets on the name. Brits also gambled on Alexander, Henry, Louis, Richard and Arthur.
There have been six King Georges in England, some good, some bad. The last George was Queen Elizabeth's father.
The Queen saw her great-grandson for the first time this morning at Kensington Palace.

"'George is obviously a tribute to the Queen's father and will, I imagine, give Her Majesty great pleasure," said historian and royal biographer Robert Lacey.
"Prince Charles said the other day he had no idea what it was going to be. My guess is that it was very much the choice of the mother and father, but I'm sure they would have checked it with the Queen."
