Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, the parents and stars of "19 Kids and Counting," have often compared abortion in the United States to the Nazi Holocaust.
Jim Bob and Michelle, who oppose birth control, wrote on the Duggar family blog in 2013:
A couple of weeks after we went to the Holocaust Museum it dawned on us that there is a Holocaust taking place right here in America! More than 56 million lives have been destroyed in our country! That is over 4000 babies being killed and 4000 women being wounded each day.
During a speech at the 2013 Values Voter Summit, Jim Bob compared America to Nazi Germany because of abortion.
According to RightWingWatch.org, Jim Bob recalled a story by Fox News host Mike Huckabee who took his daughter to see a Nazi concentration camp.
Popular VideoThis young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.
“Do we want our children, when we’re going to tell them about how great America was, they’re going to look at you and say, ‘Why didn’t somebody do something?’” asked Jim Bob.
Jim Bob and Michelle's 21-year-old daughter Jessa Duggar recently visited the Holocaust Museum and blamed the Holocaust on evolution, noted RawStory.com.
"Racism, stemming from the evolutionary idea that man came from something less than human, that some people groups are ‘more evolved’ and others ‘less evolved,’" Jesse wrote on Instagram. "A denying that our Creator–GOD–made us human from the beginning, all of ONE BLOOD and ONE RACE, descendants of Adam. The belief that some human beings are ‘not fit to live.’”
However, historian Ralf-George Reuth wrote in his 2009 book "Hitler’s Jewish Hatred; Cliche and Reality" that Hitler blamed the Jewish people for the Russian revolution and collapse of the German economy (the Great Depression), reported the Daily Mail.
"These two events were pivotal in shaping his views of Jews and his subsequent plan to murder them all," added Reuth.
Instead of referring to history, Jessa turned the tragedy of the Holocaust into an anti-abortion statement: "May we never sit idly by and allow such an atrocity to happen again. Not this generation. We must be a voice for those who cannot speak up for themselves. Because EVERY LIFE IS PRECIOUS. #ProLife”
Jessa also mentioned that she visited the Creation Museum in Kentucky, which claims the earth is only a few thousand years old.
“If there really was a worldwide flood (as the Bible speaks of), what would the evidence be? Billions of dead things buried in rock layers, laid down by water, all over the earth,” Jessa wrote on Instagram. “And that’s exactly what we find. Billions of dead things buried in rock layers, laid down by water, all over the earth. An Evolutionist and a Creationist will look at the same thing, but come to different conclusions because of their different starting points.”
