Rapper Earl "DMX" Simmons was recently filmed outside a Los Angeles restaurant reading bible verses to a female fan who is experiencing financial hardship.
An unidentified paparazzi shot the video (below).
The rapper was leaving the Wi Jammin' Caribbean Restaurant, when he met the fan, reports the gossip site TMZ.
DMX reportedly pulled out his bible to offer her some guidance.
The rapper told GlobalGrind.com in 2012 that he was going to become a deacon at the Morning Star Sanctified Church in Arizona.
"The biggest step is not in the studying, reading, but wanting to change the way you live," DMX told GlobalGrind.com. "Wanting different things for yourself, and making that change because if you still want to drink and smoke, you could read as much as you want, that doesn't mean you're ready."
DMX served a jail a sentence in 2008 for animal cruelty, drug possession, and theft. He told MTV that he was meant to go to jail to teach fellow inmates about Jesus Christ.
