Oprah Winfrey Suggests Gays Will Help Marriage in U.S. (Video)
During a recent episode of "Super Soul Sunday" on the OWN network, host Oprah Winfrey suggested that gay couples might actually strengthen the institution of marriage (video below).
The May 26 episode featured a panel discussion with the pro-gay Rev. Ed Bacon, Elizabeth Lesser, founder of the Omega Institute adult education center, and spiritual writer Mark Nepo.
Lesser said that "the institution of marriage is already in trouble, long before gays were getting married."
"Maybe the gay people can help it," added Winfrey, noted HuffingtonPost.com.
"It's going to be enriched," said Rev. Bacon. "I've never had a straight couple come to me and say, 'My marriage is in trouble because of a gay couple living next door.'"
The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to rule on two same-sex marriage cases this summer, which could legalize gay marriage in America.
