Michael “Blue” Williams, music manager and the head of Family Tree Entertainment, is proposing a gun buyback program in which New York City residents would trade in their guns for Beyonce concert tickets.
According to the New York Daily News, Williams has pitched his 'Guns for Greatness' buyback plan to the New York Police Department.
“We want to get as many guns off the streets, and if this works, we’d like to support it,” Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly told the New York Daily News.
“I think we should all work together to help get guns off the streets,” said Williams, who has managed OutKast and Cee-Lo Green.
Beyonce has voiced her support for gun control laws and is scheduled to perform in New York City’s Roseland Ballroom in August.
