Mila Kunis Tells Men Not to Say 'We're Pregnant' (Video)
Men in America often announce their female partner's pregnancy these days with a joyful, "We're pregnant!"
Actress Mila Kunis, who is pregnant, recently scolded men on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" about using that phrase, noted CBS News (video below).
Her prepared rant began after Kimmel set her up by telling her about his wife's pregnancy and adding, "We're pregnant."
Kunis then stepped off the guest's couch, picked up a hand-held microphone and walked out on the stage.
"Hi, I'm Mila Kunis with a very special message for all you soon-to-be fathers," stated the actress. "Stop saying, 'We're pregnant. You're not pregnant! Do you have to squeeze a watermelon-sized person out of your lady-hole? No."
"Are you crying alone in your car listening to a stupid Bette Midler song?" asked Kunis. "No. When you wake up and throw up is it because you're nurturing a human life? No. It's because you had too many shots of tequila. Do you know how many shots of tequila we had? None. Because we can't have shots of tequila. We can't have anything. Because we've got your little love goblin growing inside of us."
However, TIME Writer Aaron Gouveia disagreed and wrote yesterday:
“We’re pregnant” means “We’re having a baby.” It means, “As a dad, I’m excited as hell.” It means, “This is actually happening.” But most importantly, when I say “We’re pregnant,” I’m letting everyone know that even though I’m not carrying the baby, I’m fully invested.
I’ll be at all the OB visits, I’ll read the baby books, and I won’t come near you with that smelly food that doesn’t even really smell but you think it smells so I’ll eat in the basement to avoid you vomiting for the 456th time.
