As speculation surrounding the name of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s baby girl went on for weeks before her birth, no one could have guessed the couple would settle on “North West” for the name of their new addition. (Except for all the people who guessed it.) And while West and Kardashian have taken a lot of heat for the unique name choice, grandmother Kris Jenner approved of the name in an interview with Fox 4 News in Dallas.

“I think it’s great. Why not?” Jenner said during the interview. “That’s what’s going on these days, lots of creative names.”

Baby North was born to Kardashian, 32, and West, 36, on June 15 in Los Angeles. Jenner, 57, now a grandma of three was thrilled about her newest grandbaby.

“She’s great, everybody’s good,” Jenner said. “She’s beautiful and everybody’s right now healthy and happy and very, very blessed. I’m still like, losing a little sleep this week over all the excitement but we’re catching up, so it’s a lot of fun.”

Rumors have circulated that baby North has been nicknamed “Nori,” but Jenner did not confirm this speculation.

“I guess?” she said when asked about the nickname. “Who knows? You let me know about that. You figure it out.”

The majority of Jenner’s interview with Fox shed light on her new talk show, “Kris,” which will air for a six-week trial period this summer.

“It’s like one big party all summer long,” Jenner said of the program. “It’s going to be so much fun.”

Jenner has developed tough skin to handle criticism, whether it is dealing with scrutiny about her new show, her family or Kim’s baby name.

“I tell my kids, ‘Don’t read stuff on the Internet.’ It’s definitely a tough thing,” she said. “You just have to ignore it and go on with what you’re doing and have a good time. We have a lot of love between us, so we’re a pretty strong group. We can take it.”
