Justin Bieber owes his unfathomable success to three things: a lack of musical discernment in pubescent girls, looking like a human-puppy hybrid and his mum, Patricia "Pattie" Mallette, who fell pregnant at 17 and chose not to get rid of the be-quiffed foetus inside her, despite pressure from society. Pattie worked hard as a single parent, giving Justin the opportunity to become the richest teenager outside of the Saudi royal family. And now she wants you to have babies too, whether you want to or not.
The film in question is called Crescendo and, for reasons we can't work out, features three cast members from upcoming war flick Little Boy, amongst the talking heads promoting breeding. It's produced by a company called Movie To Movement who aim to "produce and promote films that make a difference - films which promote a culture of Life, Love & Beauty." Which all sounds fairly benign until you notice the 'T's in the company name are all Christian crosses.
Bieber's mum is named as Executive Producer and pictures of her with her unaborted teen star adorn the film's official site. And she's made a special video about it, which you can watch here.

It's all quite soft and gentle. There's no picketing of clinics or pictures of dead babies. And the film hopes to raise money for pregnancy centres. Which is all fine.
But what it is likely to do is shine a light back on The Bieb's own views about the contents of other people's wombs, which he made clear in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2011, saying:
"I really don't believe in abortion. It's like killing a baby."
Like killing a baby, baby, baby, no / Like killing a baby, baby, baby, oh...
Sorry, we got carried away for a moment. It's such a catchy tune.
