| by Michael Allen

In a new video released today by FunnyorDie.com, comedian Jim Carrey appears as Charlton Heston in a parody of the country music/comedy show 'Hee Haw.'

As Heston, Carrey talks about UFOs and then introduces the country act 'Lonesome Earl And The Clutterbusters.'

Carrey then appears as Lonesome Earl, who croons a song called 'Cold Dead Hand' about how Heston cannot get into heaven because his gun cannot be pried from his "cold dead hand." The scathing lyrics also include: "It takes a cold dead heart to pull the trigger."

When he was alive, Heston was famous for appearing at NRA conventions and saying: "From my cold dead hand," implying that only death would be able to separate his gun from his person.
