Fans are eagerly awaiting the season premiere of Dexter's final season and wondering what the end may bring. For many fans they hope that Dexter will end with its two main characters alive, but it is highly unlikely.

"Fans, they're going to feel very bereaved at the end I think," Charlotte Rampling who plays Dr. Evelyn Vogel, the psychopath whisperer said.

One actor on the show, Jennifer Carpenter, welcomes death for her character, Debra Morgan.

"I want the character to die," Carpenter told Entertainment Weekly about Debra Morgan. "Every actor has to shed their character, shake the ghost off. For my own well-being, I need this story to have an ending."

While there will likely be death on the finale, it remains to be seen who it will be. Michael C. Hall, who plays Dexter, prefers a not-so-happy ending for his character as well.

Carpenter may want her character to die, but Showtime executives haven't ruled out a spin-off for her character yet.
