'The Good Wife' Star Chris Noth Calls Out Tea Party Republicans for 'Racism' (Video)

Actor Chris Noth tore into Tea Party Republicans during the government shutdown, accusing them of racism.

Noth tweeted on Oct. 13:

Highest level of racism was showed yesterday when Republicans forced a shutdown of our government. Mostly because our President is black.

"The Good Wife" star added:

Every Tea Party member should be horsewhipped.

Noth appeared on HuffPost Live last week with host Marc Lamont Hill to expand on his tweets and the government shutdown (video below).

“I think it’s gotta be the worst Congress since right before the Civil War,” said Noth. “And rightly, who was it? I think was it Carter? Someone called them a bunch of Confederates. I mean, they practically are. Why don’t they just secede from the Union at this point?”

Lamont Hill then asked Noth about his tweets.

Noth added, "I think racism can being an unconscious knee-jerk reaction without being people even knowing it."

The actor then said the Tea Partiers who question Obama's birth place are "racist."

"I don't think any other president has had to go through that," stated Noth.

Lamont Hill also asked if there would have been a government shutdown if Obama were white.

"Probably not. I don't believe it," replied Noth.
