Florida Denies Actor Christian Slater the Right to Vote

| by Michael Allen

Actor Christian Slater stood in long lines with other Florida voters on Election Day. Eventually, Slater was told that his DMV registration was out of date and he was required to use a  provisional ballot.

However, today Slater received a letter saying that his vote was tossed out because his signature on his provisional ballot didn't match his voter registration signature on file, reports BuzzFeed.com and ThinkProgress.org.

Florida Governor Rick Scott restricted early voting hours and had many eligible voters scrubbed from the rolls as part of his effort to stop supposed "voter fraud."

State GOP officials have already admitted to trying to suppress Democrat voters with these new laws.

Florida Democrats called for a federal investigation of the state's election laws earlier this week.
