A video has surfaced featuring A&E "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson giving a strong speech against abortion.
The video (below) is not dated, but appears to be in Philadelphia based on Robertson's references.
Robertson starts off by praising George Washington and his religious faith. At one point, he picks up his Bible and asked the audience: "Was [Washington] a religious nut? Because that's what they would say I would be, 235 years later!"
Later, Robertson seemed to claim that Presidents Andrew Jackson and Thomas Jefferson were Christians, which is debatable among historians.
Popular VideoThis young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.
Robertson then went into a sermon against abortion, notes CNSNews.com.
"They should have listened to Thomas Jefferson. You have a God-given right to live inside your mother. Come on! To debate whether it's right or wrong? Listen, from the time you started inside your mother's womb, Thomas Jefferson had it right, you have the God-given right to life for crying out loud. You're this long (points finger). You're a week old inside your mother. They suck you out of there when you're about like that (point to finger again). You wouldn't be here tonight!" preached Robertson.
"And, when you got to be the size of my thumb, they suck you out. You wouldn't be here. Then, you grow a little bigger, like my fist and finally eight, nine months later you come out. And we debate whether it's some woman's right to tear you out of there a piece at a time! C'mon! You have a God-given right to live. And of all places, inside your mother, what in the world happened to us?"
Robertson recently told Parade magazine that he may be leaving "Duck Dynasty" soon. When asked how much longer he would be on the show, Robertson said: "Not long. I think it'll go on without me."
