Derrick Rose’s Brother Blasts the Bulls

| by

Reggie Rose, the brother and manager of injured Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose, has said that the franchise has not put enough quality players around the former MVP. Derrick has been out all season with a torn ACL. Chicago did nothing at the trade deadline yesterday and opted not to add to their team. Reggie indicated that could be a “big factor” in whether his brother returns from his injury this season.

“What have you pieced together? Have you made any moves? Have you made any trades to get better? You know all roads to the championship lead through Miami,” Reggie Rose told ESPN. “What pieces have you put together for the physical playoffs? It's frustrating to see my brother play his heart and soul out for the team and them not put anything around him.”

Reggie has since said that he was speaking for himself and not for Derrick.

Reggie went on to talk about the players currently on the Bulls roster: “Joakim Noah is a great player. Luol Deng is a great player. But you need more than that. You have to put together pieces to your main piece. The players can only do so much. It's up to the organization to make them better.”

Derrick Rose opted to respond to his brother’s comments by issuing a statement through the Bulls. “I have always felt that the Bulls organization's goals have been the same as mine and that is to bring another championship to this city,” he said.

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau doesn’t seem to think that Reggie Rose's comments are going to be a big distraction for his team. “To me it's not a big deal,” Thibodeau said. “We all want the same things. We want Derrick's health ... and obviously, we're trying to pursue winning a championship. We share that in common. That's his opinion. He speaks for himself, not a big deal.”

The Bulls haven’t had their All Star point guard all season as he recovers from the ACL surgery he had in May. They are the fifth seed in the East. It is unclear when, or if, Derrick will return.
