Christian radio host Jan Markell recently predicted that singer Katy Perry's Super Bowl halftime show was going to be "complete maximum evil."
Markell made the claim during Monday's radio broadcast of “On the Way with Ridgeway,” which is hosted by Christian personality Paul Ridgeway, noted Thecolu.mn (audio below).
Popular VideoPeople were so furious about this Pepsi ad that Pepsi pulled it after just one day. Watch it here and decide if it's offensive:
Later in the interview, Ridgeway claimed, "In fact she said she sold her soul to the devil. She said, ‘I think when the universe gives you these things,’ she’s talking about being on the Super Bowl half-time show, ‘it’s just asking you if you are ready to the next level and I’m getting ready.'"
“And Paul, this is kinda common in the Hollywood culture, whether they come from a Christian background or a secular background, is selling their soul to the devil or something of that nature maybe they… they might not all call it exactly that, but it is the same concept of just turning yourself over to Satan. I mean Beyonce is demon-possessed," added Markell. "I’m sorry if she is somebody’s idol, too bad because you are worshipping a satanic being there.”
According to CBS New York, Perry told journalists during a press conference on Thursday that her halftime show will include a famous singer, but she wouldn't say who (video below).
“I think when this person enters the stage and when you hear the first ring of the chord, I think jaws will drop and faces will melt,” stated Perry.
