Christian heavy metal singer Tim Lambesis was arrested and charged with solicitation of another to murder his soon to be ex-wife, Meggan Lambesis.

Mrs. Lambesis filed for divorce last September in North County.

Tim Pyles of SoundDiego expressed his shock after hearing the news. Pyles described Lambesis an “idealistic young Christian kid” that often spoke on the show.

“I just spoke to him via Facebook the last couple months about having him come on to talk about his latest record,” Pyles said.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

During in interview with Noisecreep in January, Lambesis talked about the band’s Christian identity, saying that they tried to emphasize their music and not their faith.

“We want to be judged on the music rather than what our personal beliefs are,” Lambesis said.

The Grammy-nominated San Diego based band, As I Lay Dying, has been touring Asia in recent weeks. They had made plans to tour with Killswitch Engage across the country later this month.

After a last stop in China, Lambesis flew home and was arrested at a store in Oceanside. He has been transported to the Encinitas Station, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
