Chris Brown has been opening more about his relationship with Rihanna and the steps that it took to get back with her. This week he told a radio station about breaking up with Karrueche Tran to get back with Rihanna.
"I wanted to be more of a man,” Brown said. “Me being young, even with relationships in the past, I did a lot of lying, I did everything just to make sure nobody gets hurt in the process. I just don’t feel it’s necessary anymore in my life. Nobody can hate me for being honest. I had to just be brutal. I told both of them that the video was coming out.”
“I’m not trying to be a player,” he continued. “It’s never an easy situation to tell another person that you still love another person, so that’s kinda difficult."
Even though, Brown and Tran split in October, they remain friends.
“Our friendship, me and Karrueche’s friendship, is still cool,” Brown said. “We’re still good friends.”
The road back for Rihanna and Brown was not smooth and he admits that he will never be able to change some people's minds, but all that matters is how Rihanna feels.
"I’ve been humbled by the whole experience, from me losing everything to me having to regain public opinion, or whatever it is,” Brown admitted. “But most importantly, you know, knowing that what I did was totally wrong, and having to kind of deal with myself and forgive myself in the same breath, and being able to apologize to Rihanna, and being able to be that man that can be a man, you know?”
