Cher often shocked the public in the 1970s with her skimpy outfits on the "Sonny and Cher Show" and in the 1980s when she flashed her behind in a fishnet stocking outfit in her "If I Could Turn Back Time" video.

However, the 67-year-old singer seemed to be showing her age this week when she scolded Miley Cyrus for her sexy performance on MTV's Video Music Awards back in August.

"I'm not old-fashioned. She could have come out naked, and if she'd just rocked the house, I would have said, 'You go, girl.' It just wasn't done well. She can't dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn't great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don't stick out your tongue if it's coated," Cher told USA Today.

After catching hellfire from Cyrus fans, Cher recently backtracked her critical comments on Twitter:

I'm a little ashamed. I didn't keep my big Opinionated mouth shut....

What I should have said (is) 'I didn't like (the performance) that much, but she's Pushing The Envelope, being an ARTIST. She's talented,& DIDNT COMMIT A FELONY. But somehow my ego had 2 get ITS 2 CENTS IN!

Ps this is Not an apology 4 what I Thought, its a Reminder, that if I don't practice my principles, I loose Them.
