A video (below) entitled “I Am Bradley Manning” features celebrities lending their support to the whistleblower who leaked over 700,000 secret documents to WikiLeaks.
After spending over three years in a military prison, Army Private Bradley Manning finally began his trial this week.
If convicted, Private Manning could get a life sentence for “aiding and abetting the enemy” for releasing the documents to WikiLeaks, which was not declared an "enemy" of the U.S. at the time of leak.
The video, which was released today, includes Russell Brand, Oliver Stone, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tom Morello, Moby, Wallace Shawn, Phil Donahue and Rolling Stone journalist Matt Taibbi, notes Mediaite.com.
"The whole concept of whistleblowers laws is, 'You cannot get into trouble about reporting illegal or improper activity,'"says Taibbi in the video.
“I was Bradley Manning,” adds fellow whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, who leaked the Pentagon Papers.
