We know that Carrie Fisher’s people have since claimed she was joking when she confirmed she would be playing Princess Leia in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars VII. But she clearly is and just retracted it because Disney told her off. And now Billy Dee Williams has revealed he’s been asked to reprise the role of traitor-turned-hero Lando Calrission. He hasn’t said yes yet though. But he obviously will.

Billy apparently dropped this bombshell at the Monster Mania convention in New Jersey, last week. There’s no other info so we’ll just waffle on a bit now.
The other news that surfaced at the end of last week was George Lucas claiming that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford had already signed up to reprise their roles back before he sold the ship to Disney. Whether that agreement still stands is yet to be seen.
Given that The Phantom Menace – the most disappointing film of all time – has grossed over $474 million so far, just how much more successful will a Star Wars film featuring the original cast be? A lot successful is how much. Perhaps even the most successful film of all time ever, ever, ever. How do you even make a film under that pressure, without going insane?
But then again, maybe that’s what John Korty, director of Caravan Of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, thought.
