Anna Nicole Smith's estate may finally get to see some of the money from the J. Howard Marshall estate that she fought for when she was still alive.
Anna Nicole Smith was married to J. Howard Marshall in 1994, when she was 26 and he was 89. Marshall died a year later, setting the stage for a battle for his estimated $1 billion. However, now a California court is ruling that Smith's estate is entitled to sanctions against the Marshall estate. The estimated value of the sanctions could be as high $49 million.
Smith was originally awarded $475 million, but in 2011 the Supreme Court overturned the ruling. The money from the sanctions will go to Smith's six-year-old daughter, Danielynn Birkhead. Smith's son, Daniel died in 2006 from a drug overdose in the Bahamas.
