American Idol is looking to make a big change. According to E! News, the singing talent show is looking to replace all four judges next season.

"Yes, we want to do a whole new panel—but, just like last time around, it depends on who we get," a Fox source confirmed Wednesday to E! News.

One judge that the source said will definitely not be coming back is Mariah Carey. Carey made reality TV history when she garnered a $18 million salary for one season on American Idol. However, her feud with fellow judge Nicki Minaj, has sometimes overshadowed the show and there was even talk that producers were looking to replace Carey midseason with former judge, Jennifer Lopez, until she threatened litigation.

"Definitely no Mariah" next season, that's "absolutely certain," the source said. "The others, it depends who we get [to take their place]."

The source also said that if by chance The X Factor is cancelled in the future there is talk of bringing back the original judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul.

"For now, it is back to the drawing board and a new panel for next season."

American Idol has seen its worse ratings this season with a 22 percent drop.
