Carmelo Anthony to L.A. in Nuggets-Lakers Trade?

| by Alex Groberman

According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, the Denver Nuggets have entered into preliminary discussions with the Los Angeles Lakers regarding a possible trade involving Carmelo Anthony.

Anthony, who has long-since first expressed his desire to get out of Denver, has made it explicitly clear that he is only interested in moving to a big-market – something L.A. clearly is.

The Lakers package, if this deal were to go through, would essentially be built around center Andrew Bynum. Broussard also indicated that Denver had absolutely zero interest in acquiring Ron Artest, and very little interest in Lamar Odom.

It was also suggested that this rumor was simply a way for the Nuggets to get more leverage in the current three-way trade they are negotiating with the New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves.
