A member of the band that spurred the dance craze "The Dougie" has been killed in a drive-by shooting in California.

Police in Inglewood say Cali Swag District rapper M-Bone was sitting alone in his car outside of a liquor store late Sunday night when another car pulled alongside and opened fire. The rapper, whose real name was Mante Ray Talbert was hit twice in the head. He was just 22 years old.

The other car took off. Police have no motive at this time.

Cali Swag District's publicist, Greg Miller, said Talbert was "the victim of a random act of violence." In a statement he called Talbert "a hardworking, passionate artist and dancer that will be deeply missed."

Cali Swag District’s “Teach Me How to Dougie” was a huge hit last year, based on the dance that many celebrities have done, including First Lady Michelle Obama.

The Web site said based on Talbert's tweets, he spent the last few hours of his life watching the NBA playoffs. The site also published what it said is the last known photo of him, hanging out with a friend.
