As it turns out, maybe America hasn’t completely forgotten about the transgressions of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Michael Vick.
On Wednesday afternoon, the voters who -- by way of an online vote -- were given the chance to decide which superstar would be featured on the cover of Madden 2012, selected Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis for the honor over Vick.
Despite being a No. 10 seed originally, Hillis defeated his No. 3 seeded opponent with 66 percent of the vote in the final round of the 32-player bracket.
Throughout the course of the tournament, Hillis upset a number of higher seeds en route to the eventual win. The lengthy list of players included: Ray Rice, Matt Ryan, Jamaal Charles and Aaron Rodgers.
This past year, Hillis -- a Denver Broncos castoff -- become the first Cleveland running back to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season since 2008. By season’s end, he had accumulated 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The Browns started a massive Internet campaign for their running back that quickly flooded Twitter, Facebook and an assortment of other social media networks.
