We were all thinking it, we just needed his agent to be the one to say it.
Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Brett Favre has not yet announced whether or not he will be returning to the Minnesota Vikings next season.
Well, it appears as though Favre’s agent, Bus Cook, is tired of the games. In an interview with Men’s Journal, Cook held back no punches:
“Now why did he do that? Goddammit, why does he have to be such a goddamned drama queen? Play, don't play, goddamn, people are getting sick of it. I'm getting sick of it!...You got problems with surgery, talk to your wife. Why talk to goddamned Ed Werder?"
Ouch. It’s one thing when resident ESPN antagonist Skip Bayless goes in on you during whatever they’re calling 1st and 10 these days, but your own agent getting tired of your nonsense? Now that says something.
For the third straight year, the sports world waits for the other decision that ESPN will hype up to no end. According to reports, Vikings head coach Brad Childress visited Favre at his home in Mississippi. When asked why he made the visit, Childress simply said: “You can fill in the blanks.”
The Vikings start training camp July 30, but they don’t actually expect Favre to make his decision “that early.” Last year, Favre waited until mid-August before telling his team he was returning. The year prior to that, he was traded to Minnesota from the New York Jets in early August.
