Bill O'Reilly Lashes Out at Salon's Joan Walsh on Tiller Murder

During a recent appearance on Hardball with Chris Matthews, Salon editor Joan Walsh spoke about the tragic murder of famed late-term abortion provider George Tiller, citing aggressive right-wing rhetoric as fueling the kind of hate that leads to these types of crimes. Among those she mentioned was Fox News host Bill O'Reilly, about whom she said the following:

"When Bill O'Reilly goes on TV every night and calls Dr. Tiller a baby killer and a Nazi and a Mengele, and shows where he works, why do we put up with that? Why is that entertainment in our culture? It's demonizing a private citizen for doing a lawful job? Why are people doing that? Why is that acceptable?"

Not taking the indictment lightly, O'Reilly invited Walsh on his show soon after, where he defended himself and debated the issue of late-term abortion in no uncertain terms, at times becoming extremely aggressive.

She denied what Bill was saying, then comes full circle and admits Bill was right. Not even a concern over her lack of a stance. This woman doesn't want to tell the truth. Bill outlined the issues and she couldn't even grasp them civilly. She was evasive. People have to keep in mind, everything the Nazi's did was LEGAL.Joan is an adult here. She should start acting with a bit of responsibility. She was lying, she was being evasive and she wasn't being intelligent. By her main logic, the Nazi's were in the right. Just by the fact that she wouldn't speak honestly should be warning enough. She doesn't have a concern for the truth at all. She has a complete contempt for it. Bill submits evidence and it means nothing. John Mccugh is not better an opinion than anyone off the street. Does she believe that? the doctor became a millionaire. you might consider that a bit of a motivational bias. She would if she wanted to but she couldn't even be consistent in this short interview.

O'Reilly will try to bully anyone who stand up to his rages. He has a long history of doing this. Here's a great video of some of his meltdowns:

Bill claims he only told a single guest to "Shut up!" Here's a whole bunch more:

Rants against immigrants and Geraldo counters:

Bill deliberately fomented Roeder's murderous rage against Dr. Tiller, just as did Randy Terry, Troy Newman, Phill Kline, Dan Holman, Fred Phelps, Mark Holick, etc.

O'Reilly is only getting heated with her because she just came off bashing him on Hardball and is not answering his first question. Being a woman and a mother myself, I think there would be more pyscological damage done to these woman after having the late term abortions than if having the child and giving it up for adoption . Do you know how many women there are that would die for a child of their own and here these women are throwing away the biggest gift that nature can give them. So sad that you people are more interested in how O'Reilly is or is not being objective rather than focusing on the topic itself...seriously, try being unselfish for one minute and try to visualize these 2 to 4 pound babies getting their skulls bashed in and sucked out with a vaccum! Have a nice day!

Unfortunately Noel you can't win that arguement, it will carry on for the ages. Somehow they rationalize that innocent child murder good, convicted killer murder bad. You think you can carry on a rational arguement with a mindset like that?

This man is out of control and should be taken off of television completely. He goes beyond interviewing with his anger and insulting behavior. You can have an inteligent conversation and disagree with someone without losing your mind. It shows his mental immaturity,

He is not an idiot. An idiot is stupid. O'Reilly has a B.A., M.A., and M.P.A. I do not think a man with that education (Marist College., Boston Univ., Harvard Univ.) can be called "idiot." He is passionate. That is all.

He is not an idiot. That was completely the wrong word to use. He is an atagonist:
Dictionary.com describes an antagonist as follows:

a person who stirs up others in order to upset the status quo and further a political, social, or other cause: The boss said he would fire any union agitators.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

i think it's very clear when people take her side, that they are liars too. I can't sympathize for these people. They are what is evil. They are thieves and murders. they're ok with anything on the basis of greed. These liberals are without sense. In a word, they are 'evil'.

Your post does not exactly reflect maturity. You don't like the man's opinion so you want to shut him down. She was a belligerent quark who wouldn't give a direct answer because she can not defend her position. She was given a chance, and refused it. But you want to silence HIM?

As I remember I did not state that he could NOT have an opinion. I don't necessarily agree with her opinion, BUT, he is screaming all the time about something. You know that whatever the subject he will be ranting and raving. He has no credibility, its all just screaming. Its just a away to fire up the ignorant people who don't have an opinion of their own. And he makes lots of money doing it. I am sure he is laughing all the way to the bank.
