Featherweight Quarterfinal Main Card

Kenny Foster by 1st round submission (Guillotine)

Daniel Straus vs. Nazareno Malegarie

The fighter come out and get right into the clinch, Nazareno Malegarie takes the fight to the ground right away and takes the back of Daniel Straus. Malegarie locked in the legs for the rear naked choke and worked for it a long time until Straus turned quickly and took top position. Malegarie gets up though and the end comes to an end.

Straus comes out and dropped Malegarie to open round two and rushes in for some ground and pound. Malegarie looks to recover and tries for an ankle lock, then a knee bar that will ultimately help get the fight back standing. The rest of the round was a back and forth fight with Straus likely winning the round.

Third and final round now and the winner of this fight will need this round! Malegarie gets an early takedown but Straus gets up and they begin to bang toe to toe. Straus gets a takedown yet just like he did before, Malegarie gets right back up and the round continues to go back and forth. The two fighters continue to fight at a crazy pace and the round comes to an end with neither fighter clearly winning that round. The judges will have a tough call here!

Daniel Straus Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Wilson Reis vs. Zac George

Wilson Reis just over powered Zac George in this bout! Reis came out striking backing up George to the fence, Reis then took the fight to the ground and before you knew it George was locked in a deep rear naked choke and the fight was over.

Wilson Reis by 1dt round submission (Rear Naked Choke)

Georgi Karakhanyan vs. Patricio Freire

Both fighters came out light on their feet circling each other, Georgi Karakhanyan gets a bit flashy with the flying knee that allows Patricio Freire to get a takedown. Karakhanyan is able to get up quickly but that same thing would happen two more times and even though Karakhanyan might have gotten the better of the striking, Freire got three takedowns.

Most of the second round was spent in the clinch with Karakhanyan eating knees to the gut and hanging on in hopes for a takedown. It was Freire getting the late takedown and taking the back of Karakhanyan looking for a submission until the round ends.

Final round and Karakhanyan comes out overly aggressive that Freire took advantage of by dropping him with a left hand and following it up with ground and pound until the judge steps in to end the fight.

Patricio Freire by 3rd round TKO
