It’s obvious why people often refer to the treadmill as the “dreadmill”. Running in place, staring out into nowhere gets boring rather quickly. I have solution to the dreadmill blues – walk instead of run.
My heart rate gets up just as high briskly walking uphill on the treadmill as it does during a casually paced run. Next time you find yourself dreading a treadmill workout, download a great workout soundtrack and try a hill-walking workout. Here’s one of my favorites: (click to print out)
