Dr. Schmitt (geology, Harvard) is one of the 70-plus presenters at the second International Conference on Climate Change in New York March 8-10, produced by the Heartland Institute.
He was interviewed by The Santa Fe New Mexican and the story subsequently was picked up and distributed by the Associated Press, and linked on The Druge Report.
Among other things, Dr. Schmitt said that scientists “are being intimidated” if they disagree with the idea that burning fossil fuels has increased carbon dioxide levels, temperatures and sea levels.
“They’ve seen too many of their colleagues lose grant funding when they haven’t gone along with the so-called political consensus that we’re in a human-caused global warming,” Schmitt said.
But it was the Boston Herald’s version that has triggerd some of the most intense reaction from readers. Judging from the mix of skeptics vs. alarmists, Jack Schmitt and the sound-science bunch are winning the debate.
You can read the AP version and join the debate at the Boston Herald’s site.
