Michael Jackson's longtime doctor and best friend says he's getting death threats after claiming the late superstar singer was gay.

Dr. Arnold Klein appeared on the TV show "Extra" last week with Jason Pfeiffer, who is his office manager. During the interview, Pfeiffer claimed to have had a romantic relationship with Jackson.

Klein told TMZ over the weekend that he has been getting "a lot of horrible death threats" since then. He said both he and Pfeiffer have been in touch with the FBI, and that they both now have bodyguards.

Klein also said he didn't feel he was betraying Jackson by going public with this claim, since Jackson, he said, never tried to hide his sexuality.

TMZ.com writes:

We called Klein out on his statement, because it seems to us MJ went to extreme lengths to keep his sexuality a secret. Klein told us Saturday, "Was he gay? Yes." He then went on to say his declaration is meant to shoot down rumors that Jackson was a pedophile.

Klein said "Michael was not ashamed of his sexuality," and that as far as he knew, the two-month relationship with Pfeiffer was the only gay relationship Jackson ever had.
