Arizona earned its first seven wins of the year in relatively easy fashion. Things began to get tougher around the middle of December, though, when the Wildcats barely squeaked out a one-point victory over Florida. Ten days later, they earned a too-close-for-comfort 68-67 win over San Diego State thanks to this incredible Nick Johnson block.

On Thursday night, Arizona decided to play with fire one more time – ultimately having to crawl out of a huge first half hole before beating Colorado at home. Well, scratch that. They technically beat Colorado at home. If all was right with the world, however, the Wildcats would have left the McKale Center with their first loss of the year.

After a furious comeback by Arizona in the second half, Colorado’s Sabatino Chen found the ball in his hands with the game knotted at 80 and virtually no time left on the clock. He heaved up a prayer and, amazingly enough, it went in.

Game over – Buffaloes win. Right? Wrong.

Replays clearly showed that Chen got the ball off in time, but it was to no avail. Colorado ended up going home robbed of a victory that it clearly earned; Arizona heads into Saturday’s game against 8-5 Utah with an undefeated record it doesn’t deserve.
